All respects to Faber RIP and the Habs for winning and the people who voted. But am I the only one who likes the return for McDonagh? Lucas Johansen a pretty good sized dman who had 27 points in his rookie ahl year who was a first round pick. Jamie Oleksiak who's fallen into a perfect situation for him in Pittsburgh. Heck he even put up 14pts in 47 games, going to be a big st,df type of dman for a long while. Add in 5 picks in this draft. I think Brett did pretty well in the deal to be honest.

Buck buck buck. Things are changing. For years nobody paid for a goalie. This year both the Blues and Habs did, look where that got them.

Blues did? Habs rested Rinne for Jones and nothing changed so Jones could have done the job so gave up assets for no reason at all. McD put him over the top, Rinne was a redundant waste. Rangers should have got the Faber for the 2 Rinne deals.

Faber isn't necessarily about ripping the other guy off. Paxton added a guy who became his #1 defenceman on a team that went to the finals. And it cost nothing really from his roster. This isn't to say that it wasn't a reasonable return, but that's a big add in your pursuit of the cup and no direct cost to it.
