Current Development:

Well it took till the very last day in March, but the Canucks managed to pull it off. The win today against the Division rival Avalanche clinched not only the Conference title for the 3rd year in a row, but the Presidents Trophy for a 2nd straight year. This will mean home ice advantage throughout the post season, which we hope will be another long and exciting ride for the Canucks as they look to defend their crown as Champs.

With the season winding down there are a couple of Canucks who have a legitimate shot at some hardware this year....

Peter Forsberg- 35g and 55a for 90pts 7 back of St Louis for the Art Ross but with 2 games in hand, Forsberg would need to have an explosive final 6 games to pass him, but not completely out of the question. Also with his league leading +42 and 10 game winners Forsberg could see some votes as league MVP.

Martin Brodeur- Brodeur is leading the league in Shut outs with 8, only one behind the league record and is also 1st in GAA with a 2.18, and tied for 3rd with .908 SV%. With a record of 45-17-3 Brodeur has set the single season record for wins and also broke the record for assists with 8. The Canucks are 2 goals better than the Rangers right now with 6 games to go, as it will be a tight race for the Jennings to the bitter end. With his very impressive numbers Brodeur should get alot of attention come voting for the Vezina, and could also see MVP consideration as the Canucks are only a .500 team without Brodeur in the lineup.
