The Oilers have been hot and cold in March, starting off 6-0-3 but finishing
off the month with 3 disappointing loses. At the end of March the Oilers are
still holding on to a playoff position, and hope they can stop their current
slide so as to solidify that position.
The Edmonton Oilers have eclipsed their team record for points in a season
going from 74 points to 86 with 6 games remaining. GM Loconte also made a
move at the deadline that was unlike him, knowing he was overpaying and
still making the move, but the GM wanted to give his team it's best shot at
the playoffs and felt this was his only option. In another 6 games we will
see if his gamble has payed off. The team is 3 - 3 - 1 since the iffy move.
