Month: March DAL         DAL Season: 3

Team: Dallas Stars

Record in March: 3-8 (2 remaining, both losses without tremendous help)

Recent Trade: Bunch of deadline deals, nothing major and it's all over with anyway.

On the block: All except for Gomez, Horton, Hamhuis and Toivonen unless something ungodly comes along. Specifically looking at options for Drury, Morrow, Erat, Avery, Armstrong and Brunette. Also going to look into trading DAL1, should be 5-6 overall, in the draft this summer.

What I'm looking for: Hmmm, how about a player that could contribute and not suck more than Jenna Jameson? Forward or defense, honestly.

News:

Well, since the Stars were officially eliminated today, it felt fitting to sum up the season. Three years of hell in Dallas has nearly come to an end with only a handful of games remaining. No playoffs. Not even a hint. There are few bright stars in the land of Stars other than the glimmer of hope young Hannu Toivonen has with him for 2006-2007. He is big, strong, flexbile and blocks a lot of the net. He is a competitor of the highest standard and, above all else, he has the ability to carry a team on his back.

Center Scott Gomez will return once again, as will now-veteran blueline Dan Hamhuis. Nathan Horton, a dominant RSHL powerforward in the making, should take Gomez's right side when the puck drops in the fall. Other than that, there is the potential for large player movement this off season as Dallas will look to make the show for the first time in their history.

Yet perhaps the most worrisome problem in Dallas is management. Due to prior committments with the US Government, GM Flagg will be forced to miss nearly the entire summer, including the draft and free agency. "Don't worry" says Flagg "I plan on setting up my assistants to take complete control of the franchise. We will be very active."

From one of a few quiet places around the RSHL, good bye for now from Big D.
