Recent Trade: Roman Turek to the San Jose Sharks in return for monetary compensation

Columbus, Ohio (AP) The Jackets have been officially eliminated from the post season run, but the dream of winning the cup is still alive for Roman Turek, who announced his retirement at the end of the season. The team agreed to trade Turek to a cup contender if Columbus was not close to making the post season when the trade deadline comes around. We wish him luck.

The Bluejacket played some good hockey in the month of March. Our currently month record of 5-5-1 is respectable considering where we have been the month of February. We shutout the Canucks, 1-0, in their own building, that is an accomplishment in itself. The teams Power Play was horrible, at just 9.63% success rate. Our Penalty Kill is league-average, at 85.68%, good for 17th overall. If the team can maintain PK above 85%, it will qualify for endorsement deal, which will net the team $1.5M.

Injury: Arron Johnson is out with a broken nose, which he suffered in the third period in the game against the St Louis Blue, when he collided with Blues defensemen Paul Martin in the 3rd period. Alexei Zhitnik suffered a Charley horse in last nights loss to the Montreal Canadiens. Both players are listed as day-to-day.

There is one more game on the schedule in the March calendar. The jacket will host the San Jose Sharks and Roman Turek at the end of this month. It should be fun.
