Sole Move: Placed Drake Verehowsky on Waivers. Picked up by Boston.
Team Development: Just playing out the string until the offseason. Decisions have already been made about the next season status of many of the players on the current Flames.
The retooling continues after the post season. Injuries and the opportunity to play spoiler for another teams' playoff aspirations are all that entice the Flames to show up at the rink before the now normal early Calgary golf season.
To use a term I have heard from Toronto of NHL since infancy... "There is always next season, or the one after."
