The Vancouver Canucks put a halt to the Oilers 14 Game win streak this morning in Edmonton.
Kirill Kaprizov scored twice and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen turned aside 32 shots as the Vancouver Canucks edged the Edmonton Oilers 4–3 in overtime.

Kaprizov opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal less than two minutes into the game, giving Vancouver early momentum despite being down a man due to a Sidney Crosby hooking penalty. The Oilers answered late in the second period when Anthony Mantha tied the game, but Alex Ovechkin restored the Canucks’ lead just over a minute later.

Edmonton clawed back in the third with a goal from Sam Reinhart before Kaprizov struck again at 11:25, finishing off a feed from Dylan Cozens and Alex Tuch. The Oilers’ Elias Pettersson, on the power play, tied the game once more with under six minutes to play, sending the crowd into a frenzy and the game into overtime.

In the extra frame, Cale Makar sealed the win for Vancouver, beating Carter Hart with just five seconds left before a shootout. Crosby and Ovechkin were credited with assists on the game-winner, capping off strong performances from the Canucks’ veteran core.

Luukkonen, now 9-2-0 on the season, was steady all night and earned the game’s second star honors. Hart, who replaced Ilya Sorokin in net for Edmonton, took the loss—his first of the season. The Canucks went 0-for-2 on the power play, while the Oilers finished 1-for-5.

Kaprizov’s two goals and relentless energy earned him first star honors, while Ovechkin rounded out the three stars after contributing a goal and assist. The win keeps Vancouver’s momentum rolling as they continue their push up the standings but still see them sitting 9 points behind the RSHLs best Oilers.

Canucks are exactly like Leni, beat the back-up but still rolling around in the glory of a win. As for the Whale, worry about your own division rather than straining yourself to pat Leni on the back.

Thanos doesn't need me to pat his back.
