Tristan Scores in NHL Debut

Filling in for the injured star Cale Makar is no easy feat, but Rookie defenseman Tristan made his NHL debut one to remember. He scored his first career goal in the third period as the Vancouver Canucks powered past the Calgary Flames 6–3 in a high-energy divisional showdown.

With the Canucks clinging to a 4–3 lead midway through the third, Tristan jumped up from the blue line, took a pass at the top of the zone, and hammered a shot through a screen that found its way past the Flames' goalie. The goal gave Vancouver crucial breathing room and drew a roar from the Rogers Arena crowd. A late empty-netter sealed the win, but it was Tristan’s goal that turned the momentum for good.

For Tristan, it was more than just a goal — it was validation.

As a kid, Tristan was more into soccer and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu than hockey. His father, a die-hard soccer supporter and always hoped Tristan would stick to the pitch. And for a while, he did. But ultimately he chose the ice.

Against his dad’s wishes — and after plenty of tough conversations — Tristan committed to the game. Years of hard work followed: early mornings, long road trips, and quiet self-belief. It all paid off tonight.

“I’ve dreamed about this moment forever,” Tristan said after the game. “To score in my first NHL game, and to help the team win — it’s surreal.”

If this is just the beginning, Canucks fans have every reason to be excited about what comes next for Tristan.

Impressive debut. 21 minutes and the injury replacement got injured too.
