Promise Kept

Post by Sharks1 »

The Sharks have officially kept their promise to their fans and are back in the playoffs after a year of transition last year that saw them miss out.

Sharks G.M did everything he could to deliver this to the fans by having a revolving door of players come in and out to find something that works. We swung for the fences on quite a few trades this year and knocked some out of the park. Though not our best deal in our opinion, the addition of UPL in net to take over the reins from Talbot has been humongous for us. UPL is coming off back to back player of the week awards and is the current front runner for player of the month. He also is # 1 in both SV% and GAA which I’m sure bothers the hell out of Leni having to see that on the homepage.

With the playoffs locked in the Sharks are not yet satisfied and will be giving it their all to try and catch the Ducks and recapture the division title. The Ducks at one point had a 16 point lead on the Sharks but we have chipped away at and brought the lead down to 3. Both teams have 9 games left including a back to back vs each other next Friday and Saturday night. This is a huge week for both teams as the Sharks control their own fate in catching the Ducks, while the Ducks will do everything in their power to prevent it from happening.

We enjoy the race for the division title, the success of making the playoffs and the complete turnaround of the team from last year’s finish of 21st place to this year’s current spot at 6th. Though we are not sure we can be labeled a contender for the cup we are definitely a team that others won’t want to face in the playoffs.

Good luck to all in the final drive of the season. Perhaps Brett can have the goalie leader board be more prominent to add some salt on the deep cut UPL has inflicted on the Canucks.
