Bos(AP) - The Boston Bruins and Vancouver Canucks were involved in a 7 player deal last night that saw the Bruins acquire veteran defenseman Roman Josi. The 35 year old blueliner had 4 goals and 21 assists in 45 games played in Vancouver this season. We reached Josi to get his thoughts on the trade that brought him to Boston. " I'd be lying if I didn't say I wasn't a bit surprised. Things were going well in Vancouver but being regulated to the third pairing did bruise the ego a bit but with so much talent there it was hard to move up the lineup. I'd actually like to thank the Vancouver organization for having me be a part of the team. It was a tremendous experience and I'll have many memories to cherish."

Reporter: Have you had an opportunity to familiarize yourself with your new team as yet?
Josi: Funny you should ask, John Carlson actually picked us up from the airport and drove us to GM Stoll's home where he and his family welcomed us along with a few Bruins players.
Reporter: Any thoughts on your new team?
Josi: Well I got a good look at them during last year's Stanley Cup Final and it wasn't an easy series. They showed a lot of heart and determination and I instantly grew a lot of respect for them as the series wore on. They emphasize defense and structure and that is something I admire. I'm really looking forward to showing the Boston fans what they have in me. I can't wait to get on the ice.

Joining Josi are centers Alec Tuch and Alexander Wennberg along with defenseman Parker Wortherspoon. Bruins GM Andrew Stoll was reached for further comment.

GM Stoll: After a very encouraging month of April it was disappointing to say the least that May was not what I had envisioned for the club. Our consistency and commitment to defensive hockey has waned and I felt a change was needed. I want to extend the best wishes for the players leaving us and hope for the best for each of them. As for the players coming in, I'm more than ecstatic to have them. Having someone with the skill and experience that Roman brings with him is invaluable in my opinion and I also remember watching him play against us in the final and I was in awe. I'm hoping his arrival has the desired effect.

All players will be in the lineup tomorrow when the Bruins face the Rangers in New York tomorrow. Bruin fans will get their first look at the newcomers when Boston entertains Edmonton on Wednesday.
