The San Jose Sharks are once again the Dionne division champions after a relentless pursuit of the Ducks who held top spot for the majority of the year. The constant pressure the Sharks put on the Ducks and numerous major additions finally paid off with a final game 3-1 win over Buffalo and a final 1 point advantage over the Ducks.
Though the Sharks have seen success by keeping their last season promise to fans of making the playoffs this year it was the G.M who made a promise to the core players that he would continue to add talent and give them the best chance to succeed.
The pre season was an eye opener for both the Sharks and management as San Jose would go 0-4 and play a pathetic style of hockey. The roster from opening night to this mornings game is completely different. UPL has played so amazingly for us that he has won the Sharks the Jennings award for lowest GA by a team tandem and will undoubtedly be not only nominated but likely a favourite for the Vezina award and finished the year with the last player of the month award.
Though the season can be seen as a huge success for the Sharks, moving from 21st overall last year to 4th overall this year. We are well aware that it is in fact finished and the playoffs are a fresh beginning for all teams that are in.
It looks like the Sharks will be hosting the Nashville Predators who are a dangerous bunch and will likely give us all we can handle in a thrilling series. Good luck to Nashville and to Adam.
