Glue-P-L

Post by Vancity »

The Canucks took some flak a couple of weeks ago for dealing Gavrikov and UPL to the Sharks for Florida 1st round pick this season. With a deep defence and two 80 goalies remaining, the Canucks felt comfortable doing this deal for a small shot at Celebrini(that we later traded yes).

UPL CLEARLY went to San Jose to prove me wrong and boy has he.

Since the deal, the Canucks have been a pathetic 3-9-1 falling so far out of the presidents trophy, conference title and division race. Not only is home ice in question, but there is still a mathematical way that the Canucks could miss the postseason altogether.

On the other end… the Sharks who were fighting for their playoff lives are on maybe their biggest heater in 22 years going 12-1 and on a 11 game winning streak. UPL has 5 shutouts during that time, all of their wins and has just been named player of the week… so now I have to look at that ugly mug for a few more days.

For those of you thinking I had any intentions of helping this guy… maybe YOU can field some of the annoying phone calls I’ve gotten lately about how this deals looked so far.

Who figured on a team with the likes of Ovi, Pastrnak, Draisaitl, Makar, Hughes… that UPL was the straw that stirred the drink.
Thanks a lot U-P Fukkonen
