While the Lightning look safe to make it into the playoffs, the surprising Boston Bruins are only a point behind them. Winning this game in hand would be good. Colorado on the other hand are battling to hold off Dallas, Minnesota and Detroit.

Tuesday January 28: vs

The Wings are a point behind Minnesota for that elusive final spot. They'll have to pick up their game against an improved Bruins squad who are pushing hard and seem to be gelling at the right time.

As mentioned before, the Wild are clinging to their playoff hopes. Going 3-6-1 in their last 10 won't help. The Caps trail Montreal and Toronto by a single point and will need to start playing desperate hockey in order to move on.

Seeing alot of paper bags in the stands lately in Toronto and one has to wonder if the Leafs have given up on their fans. The Habs while making it known that their star players are available for trade, are still hanging onto that last playoff spot. Maybe they should ask Toronto for their goalie and make another run.

Thursday January 29: vs

The top 4 in the Western Conference are set. After that however are these two teams who could put a scare into any of the top 4. The Kings are led by Jonathan Toews up front and anchored on defense with Dougie Hamilton, Mathew Dumba, and Colton Parayko. Too bad they gave up Jaro Halak. The Stars are a team I've been keeping an eye on. Young and fast, this team looks to be on the verge of something special in Dallas. Playoff experience will vastly improve this club.
