Conn Smythe

First, congrats to the Montreal Canadians for a hard played playoffs and series. I think we can say they did better then anyone would have predicted they would do. They had a fantastic season and a great run in the playoffs.

Next, a big congrats to the Vancouver Canucks. After two early round loses in the past 2 playoffs they had to have some confidence issues going into the playoffs this year. Unlike another hockey team in the NHL, they exorcized those demons and captured the team’s 4th Stanley Cup in the RSHL. Congrats.

Now, to the award. When you look at the playoffs and talk to the GM in Vancouver there is one player who he thinks really should win this award, and while he was in the net for all clinching games, Tirstan Jarry had a great playoff with fantastic numbers. However, there is one player who just had such a strong playoff we could not justify not giving the award to Brad Marchand.

Marchand led all players with 32 points and was tied for the most goals. He continued to do what he does by throwing lots of hits and be a pain by accumulating 27 PIM in 21 games. Most impressive out of his playoff stats was his 4 game winning goals that really helped carry this team to the cup.

Congrats to Brad Marchand and to Leni Loconte.
